New Addition to Ezra Redux Collection: Mango Bay Blouse

Ezra Redux is a clothing line for the fashionistas that are lovers of vintage, interested in unique items, and (most importantly) eco-friendly. The line mainly consists of clothing that I acquired from vintage boutiques (Not thrift stores). I then take the vintage pieces and turn them into modern, multi-occasion, fully-functional pieces. This process is called up-cycling and is extremely environmentally conscious. In laymen’s terms: It’s great for the Earth!

This blouse has a very festive print, so it just screams “LOOK AT ME.” However the print is not what attracted me to this piece. The glass beads dangling from the hem of the blouse is what truly peaked my interest. Clothing now-a-days lack details like these, I believe these are the details that can make or break any desired look. When I first acquired this piece I had no clue what I would transform it into, but after a bit of trial and error I upcycled this blouse into a chic, modern piece!

I added darts, pleats and faux leather. Its more tight-fitting and the lines I created on the garment are shape enhancing. We all want an hour-glass figure!

I even added details to the back, so this garment is slimming all around. This garment can be worn as a jacket or a top; you can even belt it for a different look.

This is me wearing this garment

Ezra Redux: Neiman Marcus Mini Kinmono

Ezra Redux is a clothing line for the fashionistas that are lovers of vintage, interested in unique items, and (most importantly) eco-friendly. The line mainly consists of clothing that I acquired from vintage boutiques (Not thrift stores). I then take the vintage pieces and turn them into modern, multi-occasion, fully-functional
pieces. This process is called up-cycling and is environmentally conscious.
In laymen’s terms: It’s great for the Earth!

This is a piece from the Neiman-Marcus Collection Called Red River. This is the front and back view. One thing I love about vintage pieces are the prints on the fabric, you just can’t find patterns like these now-a-days.

After loads of trial and error, I finally upcycled this Neiman-Marcus original into a modern, ethnic Komono.

I added faux leather (to keep the eco-friendly vibe). I also added darts, pleats, and fashioned a belt out of the extra fabric.

My fave aspects about this piece are that one size fits most and it’s a Neiman-Marcus Original. Here are a few pics of me sporting the look!

My Blog Premiere

Happy {day of the week} people! This is my first post on my first blog. My blog is called The Chronicles of a Fashion Student. This will be the place where I share my thoughts, experiences, and opinions on my journey into the ever-changing fashion world. I currently attend The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale; I’m pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design. I also intern with The Needle Fairy, a prominent costume/custom/couture designer in West Palm Beach, a few times a week. I chose to go into fashion design because it is truly my passion. Ever since I could remember fashion has always been important to me, it is the one area in my life where I am truly allowed to be myself. I believe everyone has a gift and fashion design is mine. I aspire to use my gift to enhance others’ life by using my creations to make them feel beautiful inside and out.
I am self-employed thanks to a site called SenseOfFashion.com, Check me out! My line is called Ezra. The name Ezra is derived from my actual name, which is Jezra. Jezra means wise leader of the people. So, I like to think that all who wear my designs are part of my fierce fashion army! My line consists of my own original designs done in couture fashion (Thanks to the teaching skills of The Needle Fairy). I have a separate line called Ezra Redux, this line includes items that I acquired from vintage stores, and then added a modern twist to the articles of clothing. All my garments are one of a kind (especially vintage pieces) and I even take custom orders. So, look me up!

P.S. Here thats some art that I created using Adobe Illustrator.
